Yogesh said that he auditioned for the show more than half a dozen times in the past 20 years. He said he first received a call and considered that he was selected. But, after the call, every time, he waited for a reply from the authority.
But he still felt good because he thought it was an excellent opportunity to be recognized for something good. Also, he was contacted soon because he always wanted to do his best in life.
He was involved in the academic circle of Illinois playing against people like Colby Burnett, one of the former ‘Jeopardy!’ tournament winners, and James Holzhauer, one of the most famous ‘Jeopardy!’ players of all time.
Even he told Ken that he was the man who would probably beat both of them. Also, because Raut had grown up watching TV and the show Jeopardy all the time in the house, he knew he would be on the stage one day.
He did many written tests and in-person auditions in Chicago, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, and Phoenix over the years but still had to pass other things to appear on the show. He also gave auctions in 2020 in person on a Zoom call because of the COVID-19 restrictions.
