Yogesh Raut is the newbie on the show Jeopardy (season 39). He appeared on the show Wednesday, 11th January 2023, when Connor Sears led the show with his two-day winnings of nearly $43,000.

Early Life & Education 

Yogesh Raut (aged 38) is originally from Springfield, Illinois, and was brought up by his loving and caring parents named Jagdish and Dr. Aarti Raut. he studied at the Grant Middle School. He used to participate in the Scholastic Bowl while in school. Yogesh went to the Illinois Math and Science Academy in Aurora and had his early career in sports (as a freshman) while at Springfield High School. He was the one who guided his Scholastic Bowl team to two state titles while attending IMSA.

As per the information received, it is said that it took him around six auditions and over 20 years before he was accepted for the program. Later, he moved to Vancouver, Canada, in 2017 in search of a reliable job for the position of research associate at Washington State University Vancouver, where he studied & pursued one of three master’s degrees. After Raut decided to move to Vancouver, Washington, to attend Washington State in 2017, he began working for his career. Today, he is a blogger, podcaster, and freelance writer, based in the USA. According to Yogesh Raut’s Facebook profile, he has stated that he worked at Social Identity & Morality Lab from 2011 to 2013, and from 2010 to 2013, he worked at the NYU Department of Psychology. Yogesh said that he auditioned for the show more than half a dozen times in the past 20 years. He said he first received a call and considered that he was selected. But, after the call, there was yet to seek a reply from the authority. But he still felt good because he thought it was an excellent opportunity to be recognized for something good. Also, he was contacted soon because he always wanted to do his best in life.

He was involved in the academic circle of Illinois playing against people like Colby Burnett, one of the former ‘Jeopardy!’ tournament winners, and James Holzhauer, one of the most famous ‘Jeopardy!’ players of all time. Even he told Ken that he was the man who would probably beat both of them.

Also, because Raut had grown up watching TV and the show Jeopardy all the time in the house, he knew he would be on the stage one day. He did many written tests and in-person auditions in Chicago, Indianapolis, Las Vegas and Phoenix over the years but still had to pass other things to appear on the show. He also gave auctions in 2020 in person on a Zoom call because of the COVID-19 restrictions.

The Jeopardy contestant, Yogesh Raut, hit the ground on Wednesday with a big victory of $41.6K for only one day of winning. The one-day winner also told Ken Jennings that he once beat James Holzhauser at high school trivia. The same day, the returning champion, Connor Sears, and academic administrator Andrew Whatley faced the winning champion on 11th January 2023. Connor won $43K after a two-day victory on the stage.
