Rich Paul is an American sports agent and founder of the sports management company Klutch sports group. He represents several prominent NBA players and he is considered the world’s most influential person by many reputed magazines. Despite his low profile, he managed to gain attention from the global media because of his probable relationship with American singer Adele.

Early Life

Rich Paul was born on 16 December 1981 in Cleveland, Ohio in the USA. His father had a candy shop named R&J Confectionery, and they lived in a one-bedroom apartment located just above their store. During his childhood, He was attracted to how his father was involved in doing business and developed an entrepreneurial spirit. So, he started working in that store when he was just seven years old. While working in their store he completed his high school at Benedictine, a Roman Catholic school in the USA.

After NBA Draft 2003, Rich got more familiar with LeBron James as he was included in the circle of his buddies that includes LeBron’s childhood friends Maverick Carter and Randy Mims. In 2012 they all together started their own agency named Klutch sports group. By the conclusion of their agreement in 2020, termini negotiated 1.4 billion us dollars. Later that year asked Paul to run its sports division through a partnership with Klutch where he expanded the division’s clients from 4 to 23.

The “Rich Paul Rule” by the media, was widely seen as a swipe at Paul for having not graduated from college and he was working with a high school prospect Darius Bazley who decided to work as an intern for New Balance. Paul argued in an op-ed in The Athletic that the rule would prevent people from less prestigious backgrounds, people of color, and those without the funds to attend college from working as agents in the future so NCAA people could have more control. The NCAA later stepped down from the regulation change.
