Josephine Langford was born on the 18th of August, 1997 in Perth located in Western Australia, and was raised in a Riverside suburb of Perth known as Applecross with her folks. Her parents belong to a medical background as her father Stephen Langford is a Flying doctor and director of Medical Services at the Royal Flying Doctor Services Western Operations and her mother Elizabeth Green is a pediatrician by profession. The Langford sisters are much alike in terms of choosing a career path as her elder sister Katherine is also a famous actress.
Young Langford had cherished acting since her childhood but before discovering this trait she was also noted as a talented music composer by her educational institution as she wrote some songs during her childhood and also used to play instruments like violin, saxophone, and piano. Her first song was “Shadows”, which she wrote and performed in a school music competition and fortunately, it led to the “Song of the Year” award when she was just 10. Other than this she wrote “Lonely” and “Sea Shanty” in 2007 and 2008 respectively. Post that she started taking acting classes when she was around 13 years old and continued those lessons in All Saints’ College from where she completed her graduation in Perth when she was 17.

Josephine initiated her career with slow and steady steps by first appearing in short films while attending acting classes. She appeared in several short films namely ‘Sex Ed’ and ‘When Separating’ in 2013 and in ‘Gypsy Blood’ in 2014 in her early teenage years. She made her debut in films after completing her graduation in 2017 in a horror movie starring Joey King entitled ‘Wish Upon’. In that same year also made her TV series debut in an Australian series named “Wolf Creek”. In the following year, she got her major break in the film named “After” in which she portrayed the character of Tessa Young.
The film was based on a novel with the same name by author Anna Todd and premiered in 2019 and had grossed $69.7 million overall the globe. This role was marvelously portrayed by her and her hard work paid off when she won the Teen Choice Award. She even continued playing the role in the sequel named “After We Collided” which aired recently in September 2020. Josephine is set to appear in the upcoming series of the same entitled ‘After We Fell’ and ‘After Every Happy’ in upcoming years. She can also be seen in the horror series ‘Into The Dark’ as ‘Clair’ in 2019. In the same here she is also cast in the Netflix movie named ‘Moxie’ for the role of Emma Johnson which is also based on a novel with the same name.
