After completing high school, he initially enrolled himself at Oklahoma State in 2012, where he earned a ninth place at the 2012 US Amateur but later had a transfer from Oklahoma State to Oregon in 2016, where he won the Pac-12 conference championship and GolfWeek Player of the Year.
