Sarah Shahi is a sensational Iranian-American actress who gained widespread recognition for playing several roles in television shows. She was already famous but now getting attention for playing the lusty role of Billie Connelly in Netflix’s Sex/Life. Apart from this, she is widely known for her playing the roles of Carmen de la Pica Morales, Kate Reed and Sameen Shaw in Television shows The L Word, Fairly Legal, and Person of Interest respectively.
Early Life
She was born on 10th January 1980 in Euless, Texas, and spent her major days of childhood raising there. Her father Abbas Jahansouz Shahi is an Iranian whereas her mother Mah Monir belongs to Spanish ancestry. The entire Shahi family moved out from Iran two years before Islamic Revolution or Iranian Revolution started. Talking about her siblings then she has one older brother Cyrus while Samantha, her sister is younger than her.
If we take a look at her educational background then she attended Trinity High School. During her high school days, she was more interested in sports and was captain of the volleyball as well as basketball teams. For her graduation, she went to Southern Methodist University and majored in English and Theater. Still being a university student, she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega and also won Miss Fort Worth pageant in 1997.

Sarah commenced her professional acting career from modeling in her teens and worked as a cheerleader in NFL. She joined Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad and gained attention to become the cover girl of the “Squad’s 2000” calendar. Maxim magazine placed her in 2005 in 90th place in its “2005 Hot 100” ranking, while the following year she ranked at 66th place in the “2006 Hot 100. However, she was destined for acting thus, she shifted to Los Angeles in hope of getting some work in Hollywood.
During her early acting career, she played guest roles in several popular television series. Her first appearance came in an episode of Spin City and later also appeared in Boston Public, Frasier, Dawson’s Creek, ER, Supernatural, and The Sopranos. Sarah landed her first notable role in 2001 in the first season of Alias, alongside a still little-known Bradley Cooper. She rose to fame in 2004, when she joined the permanent cast of The L Word series.
Rise to Fame
From 2007 to 2009 she was then co-star in the Life series with Damian Lewis, as the LAPD detective Dani Reese; in the same year she joined as a secondary role, in the film Crossing Over. In 2011, she was cast in the film “I Don’t Know How Does She Does It, also getting her first starring role, that of protagonist Kate Reed in the legal drama Fairly Legal. She continued to play the same character for two seasons which garnered her so much fame and attention. The following year she participated on the big screen in Jimmy Bobo – Bullet to the Head and also played a recurring role in the Chicago Fire series.
From 2013 to 2016 she showed her versatility in the character of Sameen Shaw in Person of Interest. After that in 2019, she joined the show “City On A Hill” in a recurring role of Rachel Berman. Her most recent work gained her so much fame in the sexy role of Billie Connelly in Netflix’s Sex/Life.
