Ricky Council IV (born August 3, 2001) was brought up in Durham, North Carolina, and went to the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability, to complete his primary education. Ricky started his basketball career in college with Wichita State. He had a total average of 7.1 points and 3.4 rebounds over 22 games. Eventually, he earned the honor of the American Athletic Conference (AAC) All-Freshman team. From 2020 to 2022, he stayed committed to Wichita State for his collegiate games. Later, he had a transfer to Arkansas (2022–present).
While being with the Wichita State Shockers men’s basketball team, he had a start with seven games in all 28 games. He was named AAC Sixth Man of the Year after scoring an average of 12 points with 5.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. Following the end of the season, he declared his would-be appearance for NBA 2022 draft. But, he withdrew his name and entered the NCAA 2023 games after having a transfer portal.
