He is committed to playing for the Michigan State Spartans of the Big Ten Conference, after having a transfer from the Marquette Golden Eagles. Early Life

Joey Hauser was born on 17th July and was brought up by his loving and caring parents named Dave and Stephanie Hauser. He shared his childhood with his siblings, an older brother named Sam and an older sister named Nicole. Sam played college basketball for Marquette (while being with Joey Hauser on the same team) and later get transferred to another university, Virginia in the NBA for the Boston Celtics. Joey’s sister Nicole is known to be playing volleyball at Southern Connecticut State University.

Hauser went to Stevens Point Area Senior High School in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, where he earned three straight Division 1 state titles. In high school, he had a record of making 23.6 average points, 11.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game. Subsequently, he earned the unanimous All-State and Wisconsin Valley Conference Co-Player of the Year title.

In December 2017, he had to go through an ankle injury which needed surgery to recover. After a month of returning, he received his graduation degree from high school. He earned the honor of being named a four-star recruit athlete. He chose Marquette over other offers of playing from the universities like Wisconsin and Michigan State.

College 

After completing his high school education and playing career, Joey seeks enrollment at Marquette for the spring 2018 semester with the help of an open scholarship on the team. He came out to be a redshirt, upon completing his rehabilitation period after the ankle injury.

With the presence of Joey Hauser in the team, the team won with overall scores of 87–82 against Xavier. He scored a freshman season-high 21 points in the game on 26th January 2019. As a freshman, he had an average of 9.7 points with 5.3 rebounds per game. He was given the title of the Big East All-Freshman Team. he has also remained a five-time Big East Freshman of the Week selection.

After completing his freshman season, Joey was transferred to Michigan State. As a redshirt junior, he had an average of 9.7 points and 5.6 rebounds per game and eventually this made him earn First-team Academic All-District recognition.
