Nicole May Biography

Nicole May is currently an esteemed member of the Oklahoma Sooners softball team. She is a right-handed pitcher who hails from Foothill High School located in Pleasanton, California. In recognition of her exceptional skills, Gatorade bestowed upon her the prestigious title of the best softball player in California for the 2018-19 season.

During her junior year, May led the Falcons to an impeccable 28-0 record and secured victory in the highly competitive North Coast Section Division I Tournament. Her outstanding performance on the field demonstrated her prowess and played a pivotal role in the team’s success.

Early Life

Nicole was born on 15th May to her parents Kevin and Charlie. In her childhood, her parents were there for her at all times and provided the best possible resources to nurture her. Additionally, she has a brother named Jack who has supported her in all her decisions up to now. Nicole had no interest in playing softball when she first attempted it at the age of nine.

She didn’t comprehend what her coaches were trying to teach her about the game, thus she didn’t enjoy her time on the pitch. She developed a passion for the sport after her parents transferred her to a new league. Softball America lists her as the No. 4 recruit in the 2020 class, and she is set to play for the Oklahoma Sooners in her freshman year. Nicole May attended Foothill High School in Pleasanton, California.

Nicole May Career

May was speaking with several of Oklahoma’s other pitchers when she learned she would start the first game of the Norman Super Regional. The Sooners’ bullpen has relied on the freshman more than any other reliever this season. May was an unblemished 24-0 in the circle during her junior year of high school. With a 0.32 earned run average, she struck out 246 hitters.

Additionally, she received the titles of 2018-2019 California Gatorade Softball Player of the Year and 2019 NorCal Softball Pitcher of the Year. Nicole joined the Sooners as one of the three rookies from the OC Batbusters in 2020.  She was an integral part of the team that won back-to-back WCWS in 2021 as well as in 2022.

Nicole took charge of pitching in the 2023 season as the Sooners squad is looking rock solid and probably hunting their third title this year. It’s time for her to shine in the WCWS finals against Lonni Alameda led Florida State Seminoles to win the third straight title for the Sooners and overall 7th under the guidance of Patty Gasso
