Morgan was on 10th July 1982 to her father Ronal E., the owner of a clean-up and restoration company, and her mother Denise C. Ortagus, a company manager. She spent most of her childhood in Auburndale, Florida in the United States of America along with her twin sister Megan Ortagus who is a famous actress.
Morgan attended a local high school after which she graduated from Florida Southern University in 2005 with a degree of Bachelors’s Science majoring in Political Science. In 2006, Morgan embarked on her political journey, starting as a press secretary for K. T. McFarland’s Senate campaign. Following that, she served in public affairs at the U.S. Agency for International Development during George W. Bush’s administration.
Her service in Baghdad, Iraq lasted until 2008. Subsequently, Morgan became an intelligence analyst at the U.S. Treasury Department, focusing on Africa and the Middle East. During the Obama administration, Morgan’s role shifted to deputy treasury attaché, stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Upon her return to the U.S., she entered the private sector.
Initially, she managed global relationships at Standard Chartered Bank, handling clients from Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Later, as an executive director at Ernst & Young in 2016, Morgan established EY’s Geostrategic Business Group, dedicated to geopolitical risk analysis for investors.
Transitioning into media, Morgan became a national security contributor and Republican strategist on Fox News Channel. Her appearances on Fox & Friends, Outnumbered, The Five, and Mornings with Maria brought her expertise to a broader audience. Moreover, she co-founded Go Advisors with Samantha Vinograd, establishing a geopolitical risk and policy advisory firm.
Spokesperson for US State Department
Adding to her accomplishments, Morgan took on the role of National Co-Chair on the National Board of Directors of Maverick PAC. In 2019, she re-entered the government arena, becoming the spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, succeeding Heather Nauert.
Her appointment to this role took place on April 3, 2019. Morgan fulfilled this position until the conclusion of the Trump Administration, subsequently taking maternity leave in 2020. Upon resuming her professional commitments, Morgan became a part of the Atlantic Council.
