Kumar Rocker was born on 22 November 1999, in Montgomery, Alabama, the US. His father is Tracy Rocker, an American football trainer, and former baseball player. His dad played his school football at Auburn University. Lalitha Rocker (Lu Rocker) is her mother who completed her graduation from the University of Maryland. Both his parents first met each other when his mother was a student whereas his father represented Washington Redskins. Rocker belongs to a mixed ethnicity because his maternal grandparents moved from India to the United States. Kumar went to North Oconee High school in Bogart, Georgia, and graduated in 2018 and then for further education he went to Vanderbilt University. In 2017 in his junior year, he had a 1.63 earned run average (ERA) with 68 strikeouts in 55+2⁄3 innings at the end. Throughout Summer 2017, he played in the Under Armor All-America Baseball Game and Perfect Game All-American Classic. He played for the USA Baseball 18U National Team in the summer. Kumar decided to commit himself to Vanderbilt University to play baseball. In the 2018, major league baseball draft he was considered one of the top prospects. He wasn’t selected until the 38th round by Colorado Rockies, he was falling because of signability concerns. He enrolled at Vanderbilt in the fall of 2018.
