He played as a sophomore in all 31 games and maintained an average of 14 points, 7.1 rebounds, 54% (FG%), 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. He was named first-team All-SEC (2020).

He played in 4 games and averaged 16 points, 4. rebounds, 64% (FG%), 1.3 assists, and one steal in 20.3 minutes playing per game.
2021-22
On December 12, 2020, he collapsed on the court in a game at Florida State. He arrived at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, where doctors assessed him for three days medically. He was taken back to Gainesville, Florida for further treatment. Later, his head coach Mike White announced that Johnson had rejoined the team as a coach. He was announced as the honorary starter on Senior Day against Kentucky. On August 20, 2022, he committed to Kansas State.
2022-23
He wore jersey no. #11 K-state, and was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year on the First Team All-Big 12. Keyontae played in all 33 games. He averaged 17.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 51% (FG%), 2.2 assists, and 1.1 steals in 34 minutes of playing per game.
