Early Life
Jon Rahm also known as Rahmbo, which is his nickname, was born Jon Rahm Rodriguez on November 10, 1994. He was raised by his parents Edorta Rahm who is Basque and his mother Angela Rodriguez who is from Madrid. He grew up in Barrika, Basque Country, Spain. As a student, Jon attended a local high school after which he attended Arizona State University where he was admitted through a golf scholarship. He earned his degree in Bachelor of Arts and majored in communications from there.

Jon’s professional career started in 2016 after he returned from the U. S. Open where he forfeited his exemption in the 2016 championship. A week later, he played at the Quicken Loans National where he lost against Billy Hurley III but the finish was good enough to regain entry to The championship as it was the part of Qualifying Series. In the Series, Jon was the runner-up in the RBC Canadian Open where he secured Special Temporary Member Status. He got points as a nonmember which made him earn the PGS Tour Card for 2017.
After winning the Farmers Insurance Open in January 2017, he jumped to 46th rank in the Official World Golf Ranking which allowed him to compete in other championships. Jon played his first-ever World Golf Championship on March 2, 2017, where he finished after the winner Dustin Johnson. He then played the WGC Matchplay debut where he scored a career-high ranking at 14th place. Jon played the regular season of the FedEx Cup where he finished in the top 10 in all four of the FedEx Cup Playoff events and fifth in the final standings.
Rise to Stardom
Jon won the Career Builder Challenge after the sudden death playoff with Andrew Landry. The win made Jon Rahm reach the 2nd rank in the world. He also won the Open de Espana on the European Tour in April 2018 and qualified for the European team and participated in the 2018 Ryder Cup. On December 2, 2018, he won the limited-field Hero World Challenge tournament in the Bahamas.
In 2019, he won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans on the PGA Tour along with his partner Ryan Palmer and in June 2019, he ranked third at the U.S. Open in California after which he won the Dubai Duty-Free Irish Open. Jon and his wife were studying for their graduation at Arizona State University. Kelly and Jon both met for the first time when they played a tennis match against each other.
