As a senior, DiDi averaged 18.5 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.9 steals per game, making him Cypress Ranch High School’s all-time leading scorer. She was a five-star recruit who was also named to the 2017 McDonald’s All-American and Jordan Brand Classic. DiDi joined Baylor for her whole college career. She played in 33 games as a freshman and had an overall scoring average of 5.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. DiDi led the Lady Bears in thefts (six), blocks (three), and assists (one) at the end of the season. She finished third among the Big 12 rookies in blocks and rebounds, making an impression on the entire conference. In her sophomore year, DiDi enjoyed a breakthrough season.
All 38 of her games saw her start, and she assisted the Lady Bears’ victory over Notre Dame in the title game. During the season, she was selected to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team and was named Defensive Player of the Year. Her 171 assists in the COVID-19 truncated season still ranks as the sixth-best total among Baylor juniors all-time, despite the season being cut short. Averaging a team-best 29.9 minutes per game, she participated in and started all 30 games for Baylor.

DiDis’ final Baylor season before beginning her WNBA career was one of tenacity. DiDi collided with a teammate during a preseason exercise, and the collision momentarily immobilized him. She pushed herself back and returned to the floor just 38 days after the event, despite being advised to consider life beyond basketball. She led the Lady Bears to the Elite Eight while averaging 6.3 points, 6.3 assists, and just over 1 steal per game for the season. The New York Liberty selected “Welcome to NY” with the 17th overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft. flourished in her rookie season, playing in 31 games and finishing top among rookies in three-point field goal %, games played, assists, and minutes played. She was given recognition for her outstanding year by being named to the All-Rookie Team of the Associated Press.
