Cyrus Todiwala, in full, Cyrus Rustom Todiwala is an Indian personality who is well known for his profession as an Indian Chef and the proprietor of Café Spice Namasté, situated in London, and a known television celebrity personality in the UK. He got trained in Taj Hotels and Palaces in India and eventually rose to fame after he became the executive chef for a total of eleven restaurants within those hotels. He moved to the UK in 1991 with his short extended family. Despite the difficulties in finances in the initial years, he still managed to take over the restaurant for which Michael Gottlieb provided investment funding, and it made Todiwala open his restaurant named Café Spice Namasté in 1995. Early Life
Cyrus Todiwala was born and brought up in Mumbai, India where he lived with his family including parents and siblings (details not given) in a split house made of 10 flats. His father (name not revealed) worked for the Automobile Association. Cyrus went to Sophia Shree B K Somani Polytechnic where he completed his graduation and studied Hotel Administration and Food Technology. He got his first job as a busboy. He earned his training as a chef from Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces in India and eventually became Executive Chef for the chains of hotels in India with 11 restaurants and 160 staff members.

In 1991, Cyrus along with his family moved to Australia and later relocated to the United Kingdom after getting invited by a restaurant in Alie Street in London called Namasté, which was pretty lousy as described by Cyrus. During this time, the owner of the restaurant went through a financial crisis and had a difficult time so he had to sell the restaurant. On the other hand, Cyrus was facing unemployment and he went through issues with a work Visa, so he took over the restaurant with his wife Pervin.
In 2006, Cyrus opened his cafe Café’t’, a coffee shop/restaurant hybrid, and later launched cooking sauces under the brand name Mr. Todiwala’s in 2010 with an exciting range of pickles and chutneys. Later in 2011, he launched a new restaurant named Mr. Todiwala’s Kitchen located within the Hilton Hotel at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5.
