Andre Iguodala was born on 28th January 1984 in Springfield, Illinois, the USA to his mother Linda Shanklin. He grew up in Springfield along with his brother Frank. He was also on the National Honor roll and led his school team to finish at the Illinois High School Association Class AA state tournament for which he was also named Chicago sun-times player of the year. He later continued his college career at Arizona state university. In his freshman year, he was named to the Pac 10 All-Freshman team in 2002 and also made a name for himself as one of the best players on the team. He later kept on making great records and acted as a catalyst for several teams’ wins. In 2004, he went on to register as a prospect in the NBA draft 2004.

His professional career started in 2004 when he was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers and during his rookie season, he recorded an average of 9 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 3 assists. He was also named to the All-Rookie first team. In the following seasons, he maintained his form and even remained one of the best scoring players for the team. In 2010, Andre suffered an injury and got Achilles injury which hampered his performance and also led to his trade-off rumors. The team also suffered and had a poor season. He was however named NBA All-Defensive team second. The following year, he went on an internship with Merril Lynch and was selected for the First All-Star game.
Meteoric Rise
Meanwhile, he is also known to have represented his country at the National level and was part of the USA national team for the 2010 FIBA World Championship. The team won a gold medal and he was also selected for the 2012 London Olympics team. In 2012, he was traded to Denver Nuggets and averaged 18 points and 8 rebounds. He again changed his team in 2013 and joined Golden State Warriors. In his first season with the team, he was named the Finals MVP and was the NBA’s sixth man of the year in 2015-16. He continued playing with the team till the 2019 season and maintained his form.
In 2020, he moved to Miami Hart and played with the team for a single season. He was then made a free agent after which he returned to the Golden state warriors team in 2021. He is currently playing with the team in the 2022 NBA finals and has returned to the team after missing several games due to injury.
