Early Life
Miguel was born on November 16, 1951, in Washington, D.C. He has not shared much information about his childhood. Sandoval enrolled at a mime school in order to get professional training in mime performances in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Later Miguel joined the mime troupe full-time and continued the study of mime. In 1975 he started his professional acting career.

Miguel began his professional acting career by working as a mime. He started acting in films in the early 1980s. His first few roles were supporting roles in movies. He did small roles in films like Do the Right Thing, Jurassic Park, and Jungle Fever. It was only after his appearance in Clear and Present Danger, Miguel started getting larger roles. After that, he appeared in Get Shorty, Blow, and Up Close & Personal.
His major roles are Bennie Reyes in Three Businessman, Treviranus in Death and the Compass, and Arizona Gray in Repo Chick. He has briefly appeared in Sid and Nancy and in Repo Man. Meanwhile, Miguel has acted in several television series. He did many reoccurring roles. He became popular after the show Medium in which he played D.A. Manuel Devalos. The series ended in 2011, but it was his most successful acting project.
Manuel also appeared as a guest in many popular series such as ER, The X-Files, Seinfeld, Fraiser, Law and Order, and Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. The first season of the ABC drama Murder One featured Manuel prominently. Manuel has also tried his hands at directing. He has directed one episode of each season of Medium from the fourth to the seventh season. Manuel founded an acting Company for inmates at the New Mexico State Penitentiary.
