Rachel Garcia is one of the most talented American college Softball players in the country who plays for UCLA. She was named as 2015 Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year during her high school days. In the 2020 summer Olympics, she was going to represent Team USA but due to Covid-19 the matches were suspended and will now be conducted in July 2021. She was the no.1 draft pick in the Athletes Unlimited Pro softball draft.

Rachel was born on 30th March 1997 in Lancaster, California. The names of her parents are Joseph Tony Garcia and Christine Garcia. The details about her siblings have not been shared yet. At a young age, she used to show active participation in outdoor sports. Rachel completed her high school education at Highland High School in Palmdale, California. For her further and higher studies, she went to the University of California, Los Angeles. At UCLA she showed a great interest in playing softball and was later part of the college team.

In her Freshmen Year, she was redshirted because of her knee injury. She played 14 games and was part of 23 shutouts. As a hitter, she had a .325 batting average, 8 homers, and 29 RBI and had 15 multiple-hit games and 8 multi-RBI contests. During her sophomore year, she had a 1.31 ERA and struck out 42 batters in 23 innings. In this season she was named Pac-12 Conference Player of the Year, USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, NFCA National Player of the year, and Honda Sports Award for Softball.

In her Junior Year, she had a record of 1.14 ERA and 286 strikeouts in 202 innings. This year she was named as Women’s College World Series Most Outstanding Player. She ended this season on a nine-game win streak. In her senior year, she missed the first month of the game due to her injury. She was able to finish her regular season with an undefeated 14-0 record, a nation-leading 0.69 ERA, 2 saves, and 124 strikeouts in 94 innings. She completed her year with an 18-3 record with 7 shutouts, 183 strikeouts, and 29 walks in 136 1/3 innings.
Later she returned to the Women’s College World Series and during the game, she posted 7 strikeouts, 2 hits, and drove in bruins by hitting a home run in her final appearance. She made was a part of Team USA in Stand Beside Her tour which was suspended in March 2020 due to the covid-19 Pandemic. Also, she returned to UCLA for her final college year games and will later join Team USA. Her team has currently arrived in Midland, Texas for Stand Beside Her Tour.
