Trudy Busch Valentine is a generous human, nurse, and American politician. She is the daughter of Gussie Busch, former owner of the Anheuser-Busch brewery and the St. Louis Cardinals. She recently ran for elections to represent Missouri and came out in the U.S Senate on August 02, 2022.

Early Life

Trudy Busch Valentine was born on June 1, 1957, in St Louis, Missouri but later, in 1971, moved to Colorado Springs. She was raised at Grant’s farm in the family of August “Gussie” Busch, the founder of the Anheuser-Busch brewing company (her father), and Gertrude Buholzee Busch (her mother) with her six siblings. Trudy’s parents divorced in 1978 and her father married for the fourth time. In 1989, Gussie left the world and her mother died in 2016. Though information about her primary education cannot be accessed, it is reported Trudy went to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1975. In 1980, she received a nursing degree from Saint Louis University and later got a degree in Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies from the Aquinas Institute of Theology.

After earning her nursing degree, Trudy worked as a caretaker for homeless children at the Salvation Army Residence for Children. In 1990, she became a part of the St. Louis University Women’s Council and the School of Nursing Executive Advisory Board. Trudy is a part of the democratic party. She started her career in 1991 as a member of the Colorado Springs City Council. From 1997 to 2003, she worked as the mayor of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She helped in the expansion of businesses in the city and also worked on its infrastructural development. In 2003, after her term ended, she went on to open a consulting business. She also served on the board of directors for many businesses.

She ran for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate seat in 2012 but unfortunately lost the elections. Now, she is elected to the U.S Senate after running for the democratic party. Trudy announced she would run for US Senate at the end of March 2022. She was relatively late in the race. She went on to raise around $3 million from campaign contributors. This Tuesday, she won the Democratic nomination, surpassing her tough competitor, Lucas Kunce. She is a philanthropist and will work strongly for her people.

Long back, Trudy was married to her partner of Lewis, Rice & Fingersh, L.L.C., John Dee Valentine but he died at the age of 49 suffering from cancer in 2002.
