Roz Varon was born on 26th November 1957 and currently lives in River Forest, Illinois. She went to Columbia College and received her degree in B.A. in Broadcast Communication. She is known to be residing in the Western Suburb of Chicago with her extended family including her husband, daughter, two dogs, and a cat.

Starting her career in Chicago at WLS Radio, Roz worked her way up from a traffic reporter to other roles at WLAK/WLIT Radio and WUSN Radio. She briefly served as an on-air radio personality at WFYR Radio Station.

In 1989, Roz joined ABC7 News channel as an anchor, later becoming the first to introduce rush hour traffic reporting on morning TV news. Her focus was updating Chicagoans on traffic snarls and travel times.
