Rita Braver is an American personality who is a television presenter, and news correspondent and is currently working for CBS news. She is famously known for being an investigative journalist of White House scandals such as the Iran-Contra affair.
Early Life
Rita Braver was born on 12th April 1948 and was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland. She lost her father at a very young age and was brought up mainly by her mother who raised her along with her two other siblings named Bettie Braver Sugar and Sharon Braver Cohen. She is a graduate student of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, from where she received her degree in Political Science.

After completing her education, Braver spent a few years working for WWL-TV in New Orleans as a copy girl and after spending a few months, she moved to Washington, DC along with her husband and joined the network called CBS in 1972 at the position of Producer. For a brief period of 10 years (from 1983 to 1993), she served as the CBS News’ Chief law correspondent and worked on major stories like the John Walker spy ring, as well as that of another spy, Jonathan Pollard. While being with CBDS, she led to major coverage of the stories like the Iran-Contra affair. She has also worked as the Chief White House Correspondent for the CBS network during the administration of Bill Clinton and his first term.
Since 1998, she has been working with the CBS network as the national correspondent for Sunday Morning. While working for Sunday Morning, she has covered all the major reports, almost everything from arts to national politics and foreign policy. Earlier in this position, Braver worked as Chief White House correspondent. During the time she started working for CBS Sunday Morning, she covered the major stories of Doomsday Scenarios, the Rise of the Blogosphere, and many others. She also covered a series of personality profiles on celebrity designers, business leaders, and entertainment personalities like Barry Diller, Smokey Robinson, Giorgio Armani, and others.

Rita is the recipient of at least five Emmy awards including a star award from American Women in Radio and Television and one award from the National Mother’s Day Committee for the category of Mother of the Year. Barnett, who is the known personality of Washington, DC, and has been working as an attorney with a reputed professional life. The couple together married each other on 10th April 1972 and have a daughter who is married to Daniel Ross Penn. Rita and Robert B.
