Mariska Magdolna Hargitay, who is popularly known as Mariska Hargitay was born on January 23, 1964, in Santa Monica, California, in the United States of America. She is the daughter of a famous actor and a bodybuilder Mickey Hargitay and actress Jayne Hargitay. She has two older brothers named Miklos Hargitay and Zoltan Hargitay. Mariska studies as a student at her Catholic secondary school after which she attended Marymount High School. After graduating from high school in 1982, Mariska enjoyed acting and enrolled and attended UCLA School of Theatre Film and Television where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She then attended Groundlings Theatre and School in Los Angeles.
Mariska Hargitay Career
Mariska started her career by first appearing in the music video of Ronnie Milsap’s “She Loves My Car.” After a year, she was offered a role in the comedy-horror movie Ghoulies. She then appeared in the television series Downtown in 1986. In 1988, Mariska played a recurring role of the Carly fix in the soap opera Falcon Crest. She then played the role of Angela Garcia in the series Tequila and Bonetti which was released in 1992.
She also played a minor role in the movie Leaving Las Vegas which was released in 1995. Mariska then started to appear as the main cast in the NBC police procedural television drama series named Law and Order: Special victims Unit which started airing in 1999. She still appears in the series even in 2021. In January 2001, Mariska was seen in the Got Milk? Advertisement with her son August.
