Lindsay made an early impact in high school, hitting.520 with seven home runs and 54 RBIs in 32 games to go along with a 153-run score.
She had a fantastic career as a pitcher, going 51-19 with a 1.07 ERA, striking out 711 batters in 452.2 innings, and had one of her best seasons as a senior by striking out 223 and limiting opponents to a.162 batting average. As a junior, she was dominant, striking out 194 hitters in 127.2 innings while issuing only nine walks. She chose ASU because she wanted to be challenged and because she wanted to compete for conference and national titles. ASU was her top choice among New Mexico State, Pacific, and BYU.
Rise to Fame
Lindsay appeared in nine games during the shortened season, including two starts on the mound. She made her pitching debut on February 8 against Western Michigan, and she went on to record the best earned run average (ERA) in the Pacific-12 Conference among starters by a wide margin. On March 1st, she made history by hitting her first college home run, a solo shot, against Maryland. She led the club with a 16-7 record, 96 strikeouts, and a 2.88 earned run average in 33 games as a sophomore.
In her first season, she pitched eleven complete games, four of which came during Pac-12 play, earning her a spot on the league’s All-Freshman team. As a junior in 2022, her 112.1 innings pitched, 84 strikeouts, and First Team All-Pac-12 honors made her the league’s best pitcher.
She was named Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week after sweeping UCLA with two wins, including a complete game that was pivotal in ASU taking the series. Lindsay went on to pitch nine full games and three shutouts for the team. She pitched in 30 games for the Sun Devils as a junior, making 16 starts, and going 13-5 with a 2.12 earned run average.
