Kelley Lynch is a senior Softball Player from East Coweta high school and she turned out to be the backbone for the Huskies Softball team throughout the NCAA Season 2023. She performed whenever the squad needed her and emerged as the savior in tough situations. Ever since her high school days, she remained a standout athlete and even every coach said that she was the real deal and now she is proving them right. 

Early Life

Kelley Lynch was born on 6th October 2000 and grew up in Newnan, Georgia. She is the daughter of Steve Lynch and Jan Lynch and she has a sister, Katey. Her sister played softball at Kennesaw State University with the aspiration of one day representing the United States in the Olympics. As a 2019 high school senior, she attended the National High School Player of the Year. The Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year award was given to her in 2018 and again in 2019.

Kelley Lynch Career

Kelley had three walks and eight strikeouts in four at-bats against Dixie State and Nevada, respectively. With two hits at the plate and two strikeouts in a complete-game victory over Hawaii for San Diego State, she hit her first career triple. She homered against then-ranked seventh Arizona and doubled against then-ranked fourteenth Arizona State.

Kelley took a no-hit bid into the sixth and a half innings at Oregon State on April 10 and struck out nine in six innings of a win over Cal. She had two singles and three runs batted in to help Michigan advance from regionals, where they had been eliminated by Utah.

Kelley’s six strikeouts in her first game as a Husky were the most by a rookie since Danielle Lawrie, and she shared the 2018 record for most Pac-12 Rookie of the Week honors with Gabbie Plain. She homered for three runs and walked in one against fifth-ranked Florida State on February 14.

Rise to Fame

She was the first Husky to do so since Kaitlin Inglesby in 2013, and the only freshman to do it other than Inglesby in 2011. In addition to her two-run double and six-strikeout performance against Liberty, she also threw 5.1 scoreless innings. She smashed her first career grand slam against No. 11 Michigan and became the only Husky to ever hit multiple walk-off home runs in a season.

In her junior year, Kelley threw a complete game shutout against New Mexico State, allowing only three hits and striking out five hitters for her first career shutout, and on April 15 of the same year, she set a career-high with 15 strikeouts against then-ranked No. 19 Oregon State.

She struck out a career-high 16 batters in the complete-game win against Utah Valley and threw a scoreless 4.2 innings in the win over #19 Stanford. She had 10 extra-base hits and 6 games with multiple hits, both of which were career highs.
