Early Life
Kim Si Woo was born on 28th June 1995 and grew up in the streets of Seoul in South Korea. He didn’t start playing golf until he was eight years old and got pro when he was seventeen. Kim ended up in a tie for 20th place at PGA Tour Q School in 2012. He was the youngest player in PGA Tour history when he qualified for the tour at the age of 17 years, 5 months, and 6 days. Kim played in eight tournaments on the PGA Tour in 2013, missing the cut in seven of them. He entered seven Web.com Tour events in 2013 and made the cut in four of them.
Kim made 15 of 19 cuts on the Web.com Tour in 2014, and he finished third at the Cleveland Open. He took home the Stonebrae Classic trophy in July 2015, his first Web.com Tour victory. To play on the PGA Tour in 2016, he finished 2015 in the top 10 on the Web.com Tour money list.
Rise to Fame
In 2016, he won the Wyndham Championship for his first PGA Tour title. He was the season’s youngest victor at age 21. Kim, who was ranked 73rd in the world before the Players Championship, was only the second lowest-ranked player to win the tournament, behind 2002 winner Craig Perks, who was ranked outside the top 200. As a result of the victory, Kim’s world ranking increased to 28.
Kim was eliminated from the 2018 RBC Heritage in April’s sudden-death playoff. He led for much of the final round, but he shot three over and missed several putts, including the one he needed to win the tournament in regulation and avoid a playoff. After two more extra holes, he was eliminated when Satoshi Kodaira made a long birdie putt on the par-3 17th to win the playoff.
Kim won The American Express in La Quinta, California in January of 2021. Kim won his third PGA Tour tournament with a final-round score of 8 under par, one stroke ahead of Patrick Cantlay. He tied for first place with five other players after 72 holes in the Wyndham Championship later that year. In a sudden-death playoff, Kevin Kisner emerged victorious.

He won the Sony Open in Hawaii in January of 2023 by one stroke over Hayden Buckley after making birdies on the 18th and 19th holes. That win gave him his fourth PGA Tour title.
