Kelly Reilly is an English actress well known for her role in the movie Fight. Jessica Kelly Siobhán Reilly was born on 18 July 1977 in Chessington, London, England, United Kingdom. Born as well as raised in London, Kelly was born into a middle-class family to a hospital receptionist mother and a police officer father, Jack Reilly. She is of Irish and British descent and was raised in a Catholic household. Kelly has an older brother, Neil Reilly, and he is a professional golf player. Kelly’s career in the entertainment industry started in an unconventional manner. She wrote a letter to the producers of the television drama Prime Suspect, asking for work. Six months later, she was called for an audition and got offered a role in the episode of Prime Suspect 4: Inner Circle, in May of 1995, as Polly Henry. She then did several guest roles in television series like Bramwell, Poldark, Sharman, Rebecca, Pie in the Sky, The Children of the New Forest, Wonderful You, and so on, over the course of the next five years.
For Kelly, acting has always been escapism however, she says that Theatre is where her heart is. Kelly got her big break in the year 2001, wherein she appeared alongside Helen Mirren on the big screen. She played the role of Young Amy in Fred Schepisi’s Last Orders. This was of much importance to Kelly as she wanted to outgrow her impression as a comic. Terry Johnson, a producer for the English stage, has described Kelly by quoting “Kelly is possibly the most natural, dyed-in-the-wool, deep-in-the-bone actress I’ve ever worked with.” Terry and Kelly have worked together in four productions, from 1997-2006.
Rise to Fame
In 2002, Kelly starred with Audrey Tautou and Romain Duris as Wendy, in the French comedy film L’Auberge Espagnole (The Spanish Apartment). She reprised her role in the 2005 sequel, Les Poupées russes (The Russian Dolls) and the 2013 follow-up, Casse-tête chinois (Chinese Puzzle). Kelly’s lead role came after a much-awaited time, in 2008, with the horror film Eden Lake where she played the role of Jenny. She also played an important role in the British television series Above Suspicion. Kelly came into the spotlight for her role as Mary Watson in Sherlock Holmes in 2009, and again in 2011 for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
In 2015, Kelly made her Broadway debut opposite Clive Owen and Eve Best in Harold Pinter’s play Old Times at the American Airlines Theatre. Kelly has put a footnote in the entertainment industry, both American and English. Her latest screen appearance was in the horror film Eli, which was released in 2019. For her role, Kelly performed with a full mid-American accent hiding her actual English accents.

She just turns a bad situation to her advantage time and time again!
