Early Life
She was born as Jessica Marie Cuban in New York City, United States on June 13, 1982, to Puerto Rican parents Charles Caban and Maggie Caban. Both of them work in a hospital. She has an older brother named Charlie Caban. As a child, Jessica wanted to become a lawyer and even prepared hard for it but soon she became a model. She studied in local schools in Spanish Harlem, New York.

In her early days, Jessica wanted to become a lawyer but soon destiny made her a successful model. She was first ever seen in Jennifer Lopez’s campaign for her fashion line, J-LO on a national widescreen. After becoming a model for Jennifer’s line, she then was seen in various magazines and commercials. She then appeared in the music video for Holla by Proyecto Uno in 2007. In 2008, Si TV started their new reality competition show named Model Latina for which Jessica auditioned and competed against other models to win the show. She even made it to the final against Darlenis Duran and by the end was declared the winner of the first season.
Jessica was the first Model Latina which resulted in featuring in many magazines and a contract worth $10,000 with Q Management. She was widely recognized after this win. In 2010 she made her film debut by appearing in Are You for Great Sex? Where she played the role of The Gala Laron along with Maximiliano Palacio and Taso Mikroulis. For this role, she also bagged Best Acting Performance in a Feature Film at Boston International Film Festival and Festival Award for Best Actress at the Hoboken International Film Festival both in the year 2010. In 2016 she appeared in the romantic comedy Jane the Virgin as Sonia and over the years has also featured on the cover of famous fashion magazines like Interview and Latina Magazine. She has also launched her own line for swimwear known as J.Marie Swimwear.
