Hunter Renfrow Biography

Hunter Renfrow is an American football player who plays as wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders of the NFL. Previously, he played college football at Clemson and currently showing his ultimate strength in the professional scene as well.

Early Life

Hunter Renfrow is one of the six children born to his parents. His mother, Suzanne, and brother Jordan, both graduated from Clemson. On the other hand, Renfrow’s father Tim Renfrow is one of the eleven children born to his parents. As far as his education is concerned then he went to Socastee High School from where he started his journey in football. After showing impressive gameplay and skills, he went to Clemson University and joined the college roster for the NCAA Subdivision competition.

High School Career

Renfrow went to Socastee High School in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where his father Tim Renfrow was the coach of the football team. Renfrow played quarterback for Socastee’s football team. He was rated as one of the two-star recruit personalities by Rivals.com. Later, he received various offers to play for Appalachian State, Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian, and Wofford where his father had spent years making his career in football. Hunter Renfrow played overall 13 games as a redshirt freshman in 2015. He started with ten games and recorded 492 yards with five touchdowns. He made two touchdown passes that made him honored with the 2016 College Football Playoff National Champion.

In 2016, Renfrow played 9 games as a sophomore and some of the games were dishonored because of his injury. He recorded overall 353 yards and caught 4 touchdown passes. In the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship while the team was standing against the Alabama Crimson Tide, Renfrow caught a game-winning touchdown from quarterback Deshaun Watson with one second remaining in the game. In 2018, Renfrow won the Burlsworth Trophy, which is given to the best players of the college. He began his career as a walk-on. In the final season of his collegiate career, Renfrow recorded 49 receptions for 544 yards and 1 receiving touchdown that helped Clemson to receive the second national championship in three years.

Professional Career

Renfrow was selected by the Oakland Raiders in an overall 149th pick in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He became 17th of the available 28 wide raiders and one of the three Clemson players taken by the Raiders and the only one offensive player who was drafted by the national championship team during the draft for the NFL. On 5th October 2020, Renfrow was fined US$15,000 by the NFL. This was in regards to his fine or punishment by the NFL for attending a maskless charity event hosted by teammate Darren Waller during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2020, Renfrow played overall 16 games started with the first 6 and caught around 56 passes for 656 yards. In Week 12, Renfrow passed 8 receptions for 134 yards and won the game with an overall score of 36-33 over the Dallas Cowboys. After that in Week 13, Renfrow rushed for 9 receptions for 102 yards with a 17-15 against the Washington Football Team. In Week 14, Renfrow rushed for 13 receptions for 117 yards and a 4-yard touchdown pass with a loss of 9-48 to the Kansas City Chiefs. Overall, Renfrow had 2021 as a regular season with career-high receptions of 103, receiving yards of 1,038, and receiving touchdowns of 9.

Personal life

Hunter Renfrow married his high school sweetheart. He married his loving, gorgeous, and beautiful wife named Camilla. The couple tied their knot on 13th April 2019 in DeBordieu, South Carolina. They have a daughter. Both the partners, Camilla and Hunter, belong to South Carolina and both went to Socastee High School in Myrtle Beach.

The couple began dating each other when one of their English teachers set them to be together while trying to find Renfrow a date for the prom night. The couple narrated the story to the newspaper in July 2017. Camilla graduated from Clemson University in May 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. While being in college, she was also an active participant of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and was a Clemson University welcome leader. Also, she was a participant of the Clemson LIFE and fellowship of Christian Athletes.
