Harlan Crow is an American personality and a real estate developer. He is the current chairman and the former CEO of Crow Holdings. The organization was founded by his father, Trammell Crow, and today Harlan has developed into a leading donor to Republican and conservative causes.
Early Life
Harlan Crow was born in 1949, making him 74 years old as of 2023. He is one of the third sons born to loving and caring parents, Margaret Doggett Crow (mother) and real estate developer Trammell Crow (father). He had his education from the top recognized and well-known universities or colleges like the Randolph-Macon Academy in Front Royal, Virginia, Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia (later transferred to the University of Texas where he studied BBA), the Princeton University in 1989, the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University (SMU) (where he studied MBA and also became the member of the board of trustees), etc. His mother, Margaret Crow, survived World War 2 and faced the first British ship sunk by the Nazi Germans.
Harlan Crow Career
Harlan became the leasing agent for Trammell Crow Houston Industrial for the first four years of his career (1974 to 1978). Later, he managed the Dallas Office Building development operations of Trammell Crow Company for the next eight years (1978 to 1986). Next, she became the President of the Wyndham Hotel Company (1986 to 1988) and held the position of the real heir of Crow Holdings in 1988. Currently, he serves as the chairman and former CEO of the association.
He served as an active member of various committees and associations like the 501(c)4 organization Club, serving the growth and the board of the American Enterprise Institute. Crow has held these two positions since 1996. He has also donated nearly $5 million to various Republican campaigns and conservative groups. Previously, while making his career, he hosted the position of a guest for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. He is associated and is friends with the former business partner of the publisher Wick Allison.
In 2009, he began with a campaign blocking the establishment of a publicly owned convention hotel in Dallas, but the campaign used the multimillion dollars and remained unsuccessful. The same year, he donated or provided $500,000 to Liberty Central, established by Virginia Thomas, the wife of Justice Thomas. At the same time, the source of the funds was not made publicly entertained by Liberty Central.
Harlan has donated $10 million in publicly disclosed political contributions among the various humanitarian tasks.
