Gabbie began her career as a sportsperson. At Mount Notre Dame High School, she was coached and trained by Dr. Scott Rogers. She was recognized as “Mount Notre Dame’s Most Valuable Player” and Offensive Player of the Year in three consecutive years – 2017, 2018, and 2019.
During the season 2015-16, she played as a freshman. Also, she earned team Defensive Player of the Year honors. She started with 23 games and had a record of making an average of 11.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.7 steals per game.
During the season 2016-17, she played as a sophomore. She started all 30 games and made an average score record of 13.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 3.2 steals per game. Gabbie played as a junior in 2018 and started 21 games, averaging 15.6 points, 3 steals, and 2.7 rebounds. She played as a senior in 2019. She started 29 games, averaging 13.9 points and 3.3 rebounds.
Iowa Hawkeyes
Gabbie committed to playing college basketball at the University of Iowa. From Jun 2018 – Aug 2018, she worked as an Assistant Fitness Trainer and earned experience training young clients. She has been a part of ISAAC (Iowa Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Member) since Aug 2022.
During the 2019-20 season, she played in all 30 games. She recorded 5 pts, 0.7 steals, 1.2 assists, and 0.8 rebounds in 16.4 minutes per game. In the 2020-21 Season, she appeared in all 30 games and recorded 9.1 pts, 1.9 steals, 1.9 assists, and 2.1 rebounds in 30 minutes per game.
Later in the 2021-22 season, she made appearances in all 30 games and managed to record 6.8 pts, 1.7 steals, 2.1 assists, and 1.8 rebounds in 31.7 minutes per game. During the season, she was named to Iowa’s Dean’s List and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors.
She played in all 36 games and registered 6.2 pts, 1.6 steals, 1.6 assists, and 1.6 rebounds in 28.7 minutes per game in the 2022-23 season. Currently, she is playing in the 2023-2024 season under the guidance of Lisa Bluder and leading her side along with Caitlin Clark.
