Corey Ward is an American musician who is currently a contestant on the 20th season of the American reality show The Voice for 2021. He is probably one of the frontrunners who are fan favorites and also likely to win the show as well. Previously he also appeared on season 19 of The Voice but didn’t turn any of the coach’s chairs.
Early life
Corey was born in Hartsville, South Carolina, United States and as of 2021 is 34 years old, his exact date of birth is not known. Corey’s father, Andy Ward was also a musician and is currently recovering from a triple heart attack, not much is known about him and his mother goes by the name Donna Trader. She was even supposed to watch his audition for season 19 but was rushed to the hospital as she has been battling her career since June 2019. He has a sister named Nikki Ward who went to Hartsville High School and lived in Florence. Corey has completed his high school education but there are no details regarding the same. It is not known whether he has pursued higher education.

Corey was very young when he began his journey to come to a musician. Through his father, he learned how to play the guitar and soon learned to sing and play guitar. He is a part of a cover band called Oakcty along with his three friends back in North Carolina. The band altogether performs a song from the 80s and 90s, and also holds performances at events such as weddings, birthday parties, and bars. Corey appeared on The Voice Blind Auditions 2021 and performed Dancing on My Own by Robyn and managed to turn chairs of Kelly Clarkson and John Legend. But this was not his first time appearing on The Voice. He had tried out for season 19 and sang Way Down We Go by Kaleo but unfortunately didn’t turn any chairs of the coaches.
In season 20, he ended up choosing Team Kelly making Kelly Clarkson his mentor for the further competition. For the next round, Ward was in the battles round against Savanna Woods and together performed Fleetwood Mac’s Dreams and won against Savanna. In the Live Playoffs, Corey won the wild card instant Save to join the top nine of the competition for the same he performed Bruises by Lawis Capaldi. He also has a YouTube channel where he uploads song covers. At present, Corey appears on the 20th season of the American reality television show, The Voice which airs on the NBC network. He has made it through the blind auditions and battle round and is now in the Top 17 of the season.
