Jordan Matthew Young is an American singer and musician who is currently a participant in the singing reality show “The Voice” in the 20th season. He is a classic rock and Blues musician and has been an active part of several bands and does various live concerts. On the reality show, he is currently part of Team Blake.
Early Life
Jordan was born on January 21st, 1986 in Austin Texas. He has not shared much about his family, parents, and background but it is known that he was born in a Christian family and is of white Caucasian ethnicity, and his family was a typical blue-collar working family. It is believed that his parents were separated and in his school years, he also had to change his school and city when he went to live with his father who is a builder. He holds American nationality and grew up in his home town Austin. Jordan is also not known to have any siblings and he was interested in music since he was a kid and has been pursuing it since then.

He refused the offer and instead went on to pursue music on his own. He started playing blues music at various events, clubs, and concerts. Jordan associated as a performing artist with the Mountain town music where he was part of several free and community concerts as well. He continued his career as an artist for almost a decade. He also started a band named Candy’s River House in Utah with drummer Joey Davis and Bassist Nathan Simpson.
Jordan became an active part of music direction, production, and songwriting. The band won several awards like Album of the year, best rock band, and also won the runner-up award for Band of the year at Best of Utah Music Awards 2016. The band now goes by name of Jordan Mathew Young. Due to COVID 19 pandemic, he faced a lot of financial issues and job insecurities as there was a sharp decline in concerts and live shows. He then opted to fix guitars for people and also helped his father in building houses.
The Voice
In order to continue his musical career, he decided to audition for season 20 of the singing reality show, “The Voice”. In the audition rounds, he sang “I am not a stranger to the rain” by Keith Whitney for which he got a three-chair turn. He decided to go forward in the show with Team Blake. He has since performed and aced several battle rounds, challengers, and knock-out rounds and secured his position among the top contestants. In the recent episode, he sang “Gold dust woman” by Fleetwood Mac on the Live Playoff and mesmerized the audience as well as left the judges in surprise. He received a lot of love and praise for his performance.
He also has a Youtube channel through which he reaches a large audience and posts several musical covers and well as original songs. Jordan has released several original singles like “Sweet tooth”, “Mona” and “Rain or shine” to name a few. He recorded his first EP in 2015 named “Another Night” and recently in 2017, he released his 2nd EP named “Rain or shine “ both of which received a great response.
