Brock Wilken was born on June 17, 2002, to Katie and Josh Wilken. His uncle, Kris Wilken, coached him at Bloomingdale High School and played baseball for Houston and the Baltimore Orioles, reaching AAA. He was named to the first team of the state when he was a junior and batted .470 with 12 home runs and 26 RBIs in 25 games.

He drove in five or more runs in four games, including a career-high three home runs and eight RBIs versus Louisville. In the series opener against Boston College, he blasted two home runs and racked up seven RBIs. He also hit two home runs in victories over Georgia Tech and Longwood. He recorded a career-high tying two doubles against NJIT and hit home runs in back-to-back games five times.
At Georgia Tech, he ran for a career-high four runs and had an 11-game hitting streak to start the season. He had his first career triple in the ACC Tournament against NC State and helped Wake Forest tie the ACC Tournament record for most home runs with his two-run homer against the Hurricanes in Charlotte.
