Tardy was born on August 8, 1996, in Norcross, Georgia, and was raised by her father Bob Tardy, and her mother Kim Tardy. Her brother is Montgomery Tardy She started playing golf at the age of eight and quickly showed her talent and passion for the game.
She attended Norcross High School, where she won four individual state titles and led her team to three state championships. Bailey also competed in several national and international amateur events, such as the US Women’s Amateur, the North and South Women’s Amateur, and the Curtis Cup.
Career
Tardy enrolled at the University of Georgia in 2015, majoring in consumer economics. She played for the Georgia Bulldogs women’s golf team and had a stellar college career. Bailey was named SEC Freshman of the Year in 2016, as well as First-Team All-SEC and First-Team All-American.
She won three individual titles and helped her team win two SEC championships. She also qualified for the US Women’s Open in 2014, 2016, and 2017 as an amateur. Tardy turned professional in 2018 and joined the Symetra Tour, which is the developmental tour for the LPGA Tour.
