Aria Mia Loberti was born and raised in Rhode Island and she is living into her thirties probably. She was born with a unique disorder of eyes and she is sensitive to light and color blind. Her parents Paul and Audrey supported her every step and they fought to provide her with the best education they could.

She went to the University of Rhode Island from 2016 to 2020. She graduated with majors in Philosophy, political science, and communication studies. Her minors were in Ancient Greek language and rhetoric. Aria won a Fulbright scholarship and received her master’s degree in ancient rhetoric from Royal Holloway, University of London.

She attended Pennsylvania State University for her doctoral studies in ancient rhetoric. Aria learned the skills of public speaking in her college days. She became a fearless advocate for people with disabilities.

Career

Aria is a committed advocate for blind and visually impaired people. She started speaking up for disabled people after years of going through bullying in school. The challenges she faced in her life helped her become stronger. Higher education helped her become more confident and knowledgeable.

Her activist approach led her to the UN Women’s Task Force. She was the first legally blind youth delegate to the UN. At the University of Rhode Island, she was a research fellow, teaching assistant, president of the rhetoric society, and Yoga teacher. She used to keep herself busy with all the other activities.

In 2022 she got the opportunity to play the role of Marie-Laure LeBlanc in the Netflix series ‘ All the light we cannot see’. The series is based on the 2014 novel of the same name. The novel is about a blind teenager in France during World War II. The production searched globally for the perfect cast.

Aria auditioned for the role and got selected. She had no prior acting experience, it was her first acting role. Aria has presented at various large forums and has even spoken at TEDx Talk in 2018. Her TedX Talk The Power of Solidarity and Silence has gained lots of appreciation on social media. Most recently she is an ambassador for the Guide Dogs for Blind organization.
