Anna Cathcart was born on 16th June 2003 and was brought up in Vancouver, Canada. She belonged to Chinese and Irish descent and was brought up with her sister, who is five years older than her. Anna received her graduation from High School in 2021 and described her experience while saying, “…it was like full-time two job experiences at once….”
Anna Cathcart stated that she watched her sister act in various roles, even before she started her career in acting. Her sister was around six or seven when she had a talent agent and started performing in a few commercials. Anna said that she never wanted to be part of films, commercials, or movies and never thought about acting. But, she was inspired by the channels like Disney and Netflix.
Anna was discovered when she was 12 years old and was subsequently invited to audition for the TVOKids and PBS Kids program called Odd Squad. She got selected and worked for the film for nearly seven months. The same year, Anna Cathcart reprised her role in Odd Squad: The Movie.
This was officially her first theatrical experience, for which she also won Joey Award and co-nominated for the same award with another actor. After that, she began working for various reprised roles in multiple movies/shows like the Odd Squad spin-off titled OddTube (in November 2016).

Cathcart made an impressive debut in 2017 for the Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants 2, portraying the character of Dizzy. The film premiered on 21st July 2017 and had a population of viewers of 8.92 million, crossing over six networks on the first night of its premiere.
In 2017 when she was 14 years old, she had a role or was portrayed in the film adaptation of Jenny Han’s book, To All The Boys I Loved Before. In the film, she portrayed the role of Kitty Covey- the 11 years old girl with a younger sister, Lara Jean. She had the auditions for the film adaptation and the role of Kitty Covey.
The film was released on Netflix in 2018 and soon became one of the original films of the year and the most viewed one. Just recently, she landed her career breakout role of Kitty in Netflix’s XO, Kitty which quickly became one of the most trending shows of recent times.
