Liz Cheney is an American attorney and she is a politician serving as the US Representative for Wyoming’s late congressional district since 2017. Cheney has the third-highest position in the House Republican leadership. After Deborah Pryce and Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Elizabeth is the third person to be elected for this position. Ms. Cheney is currently holding the vice-chair position in the January 6th Capitol Riot Committee hearings against Donald Trump. Because of her stance against the former president, she even received death threats and she had to spend an additional $58K from her own pocket to hire private security.
Early life
Elizabeth was born on 28th July 1966 in Madison, Wisconsin and her parents are Dick Cheney and former Second Lady Lynne Cheney. When Liz was born her parents were studying at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. When her father was campaigning for congress, she had attended her sixth and seventh grades in Casper. She graduated from McLean High School in 1984 where she was a cheerleader at that time. Cheney received her Bachelor’s degree in Arts from Colorado college where her thesis was very appraised “The Evolution of Presidential War Powers”. Cheney was very smart she even received her Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School in 1996 and she even went on to take the course of Middle Eastern history at Oriental Institute.
Liz Cheney Career
Cheney worked for the State Department for five years from 1989-1993 before she decided to attend law school. After Cheney graduated from law school she took her practice of law at the law firm of White & Case as an international law attorney consultant and became a member of the World Bank group. Cheney returned to the US on Feb 14 2005 and she was directly appointed a Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State For Eastern Affairs and became a Coordinator for Broader Middle East ad North Africa Initiatives. Liz has taken initiatives to promote and expand educational opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa in those areas where they lack proper educational facilities.
Cheney oversaw that there was a launch of two semi-independent foundations first was Fund of the Future whose worth was 100$ million and the second was Foundation of future whose worth was $55 million and because of that Liz issued a draft for a new Iraqi constitution. Liz took a big step and announced that she would run for the senate in 2014. After that when Cynthia Lumnis announced her retirement Liz grabbed the opportunity and announced that she was considering running for her seat but on February 1, 2016, Liz started campaigning for Wyoming’s Seat and won with 60% votes. In 2020 Liz defeated Blake Stanley in the Republican Primary with 73% votes and even went on to defeat Democrat Lynnette Grey Bull in the general election with 63% votes.

Personal life
Cheney’s relationship with her sister suffered when Cheney in her campaign stated that she opposes same-sex marriage. Her younger sister wasn’t in her favor and denounced her sister saying that Liz was always fond of her girlfriend Heather and even gave blessings when they got married in 2012. After that, the relationship between them has never been the same due to this. Liz got married to Philip Perry who was her partner at the law firm Latham & Watkins in Washington DC. They got married in 1993 and have five children.
Controversies
Liz faced controversy when Bud Goodgall allegedly called Liz a conspiracy propagandist. She defended herself by saying that proponents of Barack Obama’s citizenship conspiracy theories. When Frank Gaffney hosted an SPLC-designated hate group Liz gave the keynote address at that dinner party.
