Minjee Lee is an Australian personality and a golf professional. She resides in Perth, Australia, and became the number one college golf player in February 2014 after winning the Oates Victorian Open, until she became a professional in September 2014. She won the first major championship, the Amundi Evian Championship, on 25th July 2021. Then, she won the second major championship, the U.S. Women’s Open, on 5th June 2022.
Early Life
Minjee Lee was born on 27th May 1996, making her 27 years old as of 2023. She was brought up by her loving and caring parents, Soonam and Clara Lee, who were from Korea and later emigrated to Australia in the early 1990s. Lee shared her childhood with her younger brother, Min Woo Lee, who won the 2016 U.S. Junior Amateur. Eventually, they became the first brother and sister pair to win the USGA’s junior championships.

College
Minjee Lee won the WA Amateur Open in 2010 when she was nine and studied at Methodist Ladies’ College, Perth. She became the youngest player to win the open tournament. Then at the beginning of 2012, she moved from MLC to Corpus Christi College and later left Corpus Christi College in 2013.
Minjee Lee secured victory in the 2012 U.S. Girls’ Junior and went on to claim the Australian Women’s Amateur championship in 2013, successfully defending her title in 2014.
She ranked number one in college after winning the Oates Victorian Open on the ALPG Tour. She remained the number one ranked personality until she turned professional in September 2014. During college, she led the team in Australia and had the winning of the Espirito Santo Trophy.
Professional Career [2015 to 2023]
On 18th May 2015, Minjee Lee won the first LPGA Tour at the Kingsmill Championship. Then in 2016, she won two championships – the Lotte Championship in April and the Blue Bay LPGA in October. Then, she presented Australia in the Golf competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil, where she finished while being tied for 7th place.
She won the seventh LPGA Tour, the Cognizant Founders Cup, on 15th May 2022, and after that, she won fifth place in the world women’s golf ranking. She then won the eighth LPGA Tour, the U.S. Women’s Open, on 5th June 2022, after which she had the largest payday and earned $1.8 million out of 10 million of the total purse and became the most prominent paid personality in the Women’s Golf History. Lee also won the season-long Aon Risk Reward Challenge, winning $1,000,000 for the 2022 LPGA Tour season.

Minjee Lee is rumored to be partnered with Ranan Tan, although we can’t find solid evidence that indicates the relationship between them.
