Lisa Bluder is a successful head coach for the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball program with over 30 years of coaching experience. She has led her team to many victories and accolades, making her highly respected in the world of women’s basketball.

Bluder has earned several awards and honors for her dedication and hard work, including being named Big Ten Coach of the Year four times, as well as induction into both the Iowa High School Basketball Hall of Fame and Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.
Career
She started at St. Ambrose University and led the Bees to four national tournaments with a record of 169-36, making them an NAIA powerhouse. The team was ranked No.1 in 1990, and she was named the NAIA Converse Coach of the Year. Bluder has a successful record as a basketball coach, with a .638 record at Drake and an impressive .824 record at NAIA St. Ambrose University.
She is ranked 39th in career winning percentage for active Division I coaches. She is dedicated to her team’s academic achievement, having coached two Academic All-America Players of the Year and achieving a high graduation rate success for the Bulldogs in 1995.
Iowa Hawkeyes
Lisa has been at the University of Iowa for 24 years, and she successfully led the team to 16 postseason appearances. She is also recognized as the dean of Big Ten coaches and has a winning record of 396-217 (.629) at Iowa and 752-359 (.679) overall.
In 2015, Lisa Bluder coached the U.S.A. women’s basketball team at the Pan American Games in Toronto. The team won their first three games and secured a number one seed before narrowly beating Cuba in the semi-finals to advance to the gold medal game against Canada.
