He surpassed Dennis Smith Jr. as the program’s second-highest-ranked recruit. At the 2021 FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship in Mexico, Dillingham led the United States to gold. He was awarded the most valuable player after his outstanding performance with great scores. In a 90–75 win over Argentina in the final, he set a team record with 31 points, six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
