Uma Pemmaraju, in full, Uma Devi Pemmaraju was India-born American personality. She was the television anchor and was the original host on Fox News Channel at the time of its premiere in 1996. Apart from her association with FOX News, she was also a reporter for Bloomberg News. She died on 8th August 2022 after the news was announced by the original Fox News Cable Network.
Early Life
Uma Pemmaraju was born in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, India, on 31st March 1958. Later her family moved to Texas, United States, where she was brought up in San Antonio. She received her graduation from Trinity University in Texas. She was a student for a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Uma also went to study at American University to pursue a degree in international relations for one year as part of an exchange program with Trinity University.

Pemmaraju began her professional career in the line of media reporting in her home Texas at KENS-TV. Simultaneously, she worked for the San Antonio Express-News newspaper as a producer and reporter while pursuing her full-term educational course at Trinity University. Despite this, she also served as the editor of her college newspaper. She worked for KTVT-11 in Dallas in the position of news anchor and correspondent and then moved to WMAR-TV in Baltimore where she won an Emmy award for her reporting on the live news of a child.
Pemmaraju became part of the original Fox News Channel after the channel was launched in October 1996. She was hired as the host for many different shows on the news network and was responsible for the number of special episodes on the network. During her tenure, she worked as the host, and interviewed many high-profile newsmakers, from the Dalai Lama to astronaut Buzz Aldrin, Joel Osteen, Carly Simon, Donald Trump, Whoopi Goldberg, and Sarah Palin, including the members and hosts of Senators, congressional leaders, and the politicians from Washington D.C.

Uma Pemmaraju was married and divorced. Her husband’s name is Andrew Petki and it is known that the pair married in 1993, assuming that she was around 33 or 35 at the time of her marriage. The original host of the founding Fox News Channel’s anchor Uma died Monday, 8th August 2022 at the age of 64. Her death was announced by Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott. She added in her announcement that Uma was a Texas-based journalist and was mainly known for her kindness and incredibly talented journalism work. “We are deeply saddened by the death of Uma Pemmaraju, who was one of FOX News Channel’s founding anchors and was on the air the day we launched,” said Scott.
She added that Uma was incredibly talented. She was loving, warm, and best known for her kindness to everyone at the workplace. The CEO of the channel gave her condolences to the entire family. Although people are sending their condolences to their family or friends, no one knows the cause of death as nothing has been revealed in this regard.
