Tommy Dorfman is an actress, writer, photographer, and director from Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated with honors from Fordham University in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in acting. Tommy is most known for her portrayal as Ryan Shaver on the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. She has subsequently gone on to work in television, cinema, and theatre, most notably acting in Jeremy O. Harris’ successful play Daddy at The Signature Theatre in Los Angeles. She splits her time between Los Angeles, California, and New York City, where she lives with her two dogs, Dabbs and Fiona, and writes.

Early Life

Tommy Dorfman was born on May 13, 1992, in Atlanta, Georgia, to a family of Jewish parents and grandparents. A B.A. in drama from Fordham University, Dorfman graduated with honors from the program in 2015. in the field of theatre arts. She has a cousin named Andi Dorfman, who is also a musician. Following graduation, she was cast in the part of Ryan Shaver on the Netflix drama 13 Reasons Why, which premiered in 2017. She has since continued her acting career.
