Early Life
Stephen Sanchez was born on 3 November 2002 in northern California. In an interview, Stephan told that he fell in love with music while visiting his grandparent’s house. He was raised by his parents alone as a single child. Currently based in Nashville, Tennessee he completed his middle school education at a local school.
He spent his childhood listening to Nat King Cole, The Ink Spots, Frank Sinatra, and The platters. Stephen got his inspiration to play guitar from artists such as Cage the elephant and Foster the people. He started writing songs in his bedroom. Stephen has always been obsessed with the 1950s style which reflects in his work.

The singer started out first by uploading songs on TikTok and doing song covers. He used to write his own songs and upload them. Stephen gained attention when he uploaded the cover of the song ‘Cigarette Daydreams’ by Cage the elephant. The viral performance inspired him to post more song covers and even his original content.
In 2020 Stephan posted a snippet of the song ‘Lady by the sea’ which impressed singer and songwriter Jeremy Zucker and he offered Stephen to produce its studio version. After the release of this single, it caught the attention of Republic Records who signed Stephen for the label. After that, he released an EP in 2021 ‘What was, Not Now’ which compromise of six songs along with the single ‘Kayla’ followed by the release of another EP ‘ Easy on my Eyes’ in the year 2022.
Finally, he gained commercial success after the release of his single ‘Until I found you’ in 2022. It became a massive international hit within a short time. The single reached number 23 on Billboard’s top 100. It managed to do better outside the USA and even reached number 1 in Malaysia and number 11 in New Zealand. His latest release is ‘Evangeline’ which is just as melodious as his previous original songs. He got the opportunity to make an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to perform his single ‘Evangeline’.
Controversy
Stephen dedicated his song ‘Until I found you’ to his then-girlfriend Georgia. She is also a fellow singer and songwriter. When they were together, the couple used to post clips of writing songs together and covers of songs on social media. Around that time Georgia uploaded an original song suggesting that Stephen cheated on her in 2021. In December 2020, singer Willow Avalon alleged that Stephen cheated on her and she even shared a snippet of a song that Stephen wrote for her before the end of their relationship.
She also alleged many darker things happened in their relationship. Following this several other women claimed that Stephen cheated on them. Avalon was working on building a case against Stephen along with other affected women. She even posted on TikTok that the famous singer was dating 12 girls at the same time.
