Sophia Schubert is an emerging and talented American golfer who had her amateur career in golf till 2018. She relishes being a pilot and wants a license for the same. Sophia is trailing behind Lindy Duncan in the ongoing LPGA tour at Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational 2023. 

Early Life

Sophia Schubert was born on 31st January 1996 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was brought up by her loving and caring parents, Bill and Delisa Schubert. Sophia shared her childhood with her loving sister Savanna. She is known to be majoring in sport management from the University of Texas Longhorns and had high schooling at the Christian Academy of Knoxville.

Sophia began playing golf at four when her mother registered her and her sister for golf lessons. But she always wanted something different from golf that could take her mind off. She found her interest in learning how to fly a plane. So, she started having lessons at McGhee Tyson Airport.

As of November 2022, she has been taking lessons in flying the plane and practicing to get the license. She has yet to learn how to land the plane, and she is scheduled to have the license in the next few months. She is just a beginner and ultimately wishes to fly the plane herself to the tournaments.

Sophia Schubert Career

Sophia Schubert won the 2017 U.S. Women’s Amateur overthrowing the position of the number three ranked personality in the world and the former Olympian, Albane Valenzuela. Sophia had her participation from the side of the Texas Longhorns. She was the first Longhorn to win the U.S. Women’s Amateur after the title was won by Kelli Kuehne in 1996.

Her coach in Texas attended Sophia. She was at Auburn completing her first year and later had the transfer to Texas. Previously, she competed in golf games at her high school – Christian Academy of Knoxville.

Sophia completed all her golf practices in college in 2018 and thereby turned professional. She had her pro debut at the 2018 Indy Women in Tech Championship, played at Symetra Tour in 2019, and later had her first professional winning at the 2021 Carolina Golf Classic on the Symetra Tour.
