Sahil Vaid is an Indian actor and dubbing artist well known for his roles in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Dil Bechara. Sahil was born on September 24, 1986 in Salem, Tamil Nadu, India. He was raised in New Delhi. Sahil was born to Satish Vaid and Poonam Vaid. He did his schooling from Sumermal Jain Public School, New Delhi. He then attended Whistling Woods International – School of Media and Communication, New Delhi, Jagan Institute of Management Studies, New Delhi and Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar in Haryana to pursue higher studies.
Sahil started acting by playing various roles in school theatre. Early in his career, Sahil portrayed a variety of roles in the first online stand up comedy show Jay Hind! Sahil started his career as a theatre artist and acted in various plays for almost 17 years. Sahil’s comic exuberance was highlighted in Suparvitra Babul’s Bittoo Boss in 2012. He came into the spotlight with his role of Poplu in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania in 2014, He also gave another hit in 2014, in film Kaanchi: The Unbreakable.
His outstanding comic role of Somdev in Badrinath Ki Dulhania, starring opposite Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhavan, which was released in 2017, also outshined him. In 2019, he worked in the popular movie The Zoya Factor, directed by Abhishek Sharma. The movie also starred Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Dulquer Salman.
His latest screen appearance is in the 2020 film Dil Bechara. He played the role of JP, a Bihari boy who is a fan of actors Ravi Kissan and Manoj Tiwary. To prepare for his role as a cancer patient, he spent time with cancer survivors and blind people. Sahil’s dubbing career can be traced as far as 2011. He has dubbed and been a voice over artist for various Hollywood, Bollywood as well as Telugu films.
His notable performance as voice artist can be traced in numerous English movies such as Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Endgame and Jumanji: The Next Level. Sahil has dubbed the Hindi version of various South Indian films, including Yennai Arindhaal, Janatha Garage, Nela Ticket and Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. In addition to that, he has worked as a voice-over artist for animated films like The Lego Movie, The Angry Birds and The Angry Birds Movie 2. He has also dubbed for various online series, for the streaming service Netflix.
