Rylen Wiggins Biography

Rylen Wiggins is a college softball player who is studying in her junior year at Texas A&M University. She plays for the team Texas A&M Aggies. Most recently the Texas A&M softball team won the Southeastern Conference softball series against Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi.

Early Life

Rylen Wiggins is from Wylie, Texas. She began playing softball when she was just four years old. Growing up Rylen used to play multiple sports like basketball, soccer, and volleyball.  She finally chose softball as her mother also used to play softball in her childhood. It helped her bond with her mother and that made her love the sport even more. Her father used to play basketball in his childhood.

As a child, Rylen used to imagine herself being the ‘GOAT’ of softball just like the basketball player Michael Jordan. She graduated from Wylie Highschool, Texas. She used to play softball at her school. Along with sports Rylen was also good in academics. She graduated in the top seven percent of her class in 2020. Later she went to Texas A&M University. She joined the softball team Texas A&M Aggies.

Rylen Wiggins Career

Rylen started her athletic career in high school. She was on her high-school softball team. Rylen was coached by Heath Damron. During her junior year, she was a member of the track team and did a triple jump. Rylen was named the Wylie High School Defensive MVP all three years. In her freshman and sophomore year, she was named the District 10-6A  Defensive Player of the Year. She was also a TGCA All–star team selection as a sophomore and junior.

From 2012-2019 she played club softball for Team Mizuno Impulse. In 2019 she played for the Texas Glory. In 2021 she joined Texas A&M University and started playing for the Aggies. She played 54 matches as a freshman. She quickly became an integral part of the team. Her first collegiate career hit was at Sam Houston State in her freshman year.

As a sophomore, she started all 59 games of the season playing at second base in all. That season she drew a total of four walks, an RBI against Florida, and contributed two runs. She achieved a career-high three walks in a match against Georgia and contributed four runs and 5 RBI on four hits in the three-match series. At the end of the season, she owned a .224 batting average. In the team, she was ranked third in runs and home runs and second in walks.

The following season Rylen improved her game. She moved from second base to third base. She started each game in the season. Rylen scored a run in a match against Tarleton in February. She had an important role in the team’s victory against A&M Commerce. She stole her first base of the season against Oklahoma.
