The Identification of the Suspect
After getting handed the name and identification of the suspect, Rob Elgas tweeted about 6:45 p.m. local time that North Chicago officers had spotted a vehicle driving and trying to pull him over. Robert Crimo fled and was eventually taken into custody. The shooting took place around 6 miles away in Highland Park at the start of the parade, about 10:15 a.m.
