Robert Clotworthy Biography

Robert Clotworthy is a famous American voice actor and narrator. He gained recognition as the narrator for the History Channel series “Ancient Aliens” and “The Curse of Oak Island (2014–present). Also, he gains recognition for his voice in the Star Wars: The Old Republic: Onslaught (2019) and Star Wars: The Old Republic: Knights of the Eternal Throne (2016) video game series.

Robert Clotworthy was born in October 1955 in Los Angeles, California. His full name is Robert Bruce Clotworthy. His father was a well-known radio commercial producer, and there is no information about his mother or his siblings. He resides in Los Angeles, where he attended Taft High School and graduated.

Robert Clotworthy Career

Robert started his voice-acting career at an early age—back in 1970 when he was only fifteen. He lent his voice in “The Emperor’s New Groove” (2000), Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Some of his prominent works as a narrator for television films and documentaries include – The Water is Wide (2006), Real Premonitions (2007), Batman Unmasked (2008), Sinkholes: Swallowed Alive (2014), Cesar Millan: Love My Pit Bull (2014), and Blood and Glory: The Civil War in Color (2015).

Additionally, he’s worked with several well-known actors and directors, including Seth Rogen, Ariel Schulman, Robin Williams, James Caan, Alan Arkin, and Better Midler. His first job as a voice actor helped him find permanent work in the film industry quite quickly, so today, he has over 100 movies that he’s featured in as a voice actor. 

Rise to Fame

He is widely known for his role as Jim Raynor in the StarCraft series. As a voice actor, he worked in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty (2010), StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm (2012), and Heroes of the Storm (2015).  He is also popularly known as the narrator of the documentaries Empire of Dreams: The Story of the Star Wars Trilogy (2004) and Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed (2007). As a narrator, he works on The Curse of Civil War Gold (16 episodes, 2018–2019).

He even appeared as a guest on various shows, including Better Call Saul (2016), Homeland (2020), Pluto (2023), The Big Bang Theory, China IL, and Two and a Half Men. Robert Clotworthy has recently grown in popularity for his voice-acting work, such as Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2012), The New Adventures of Max (2017), The Incredibles 2 (2018), Charlie’s Angels (2019), and Red Notice (2021).
