He is the only child of Charles Alphonso Watts who worked as an officer in the US Air Force and Christiane who was French. He spent his childhood in Germany, Spain, and Montana. In 1990 he completed his schooling at Great Falls High School. At the age of 18, he moved to Seattle, Washington for further studies. He went to The Art Institute of Seattle and Cornish College of the Arts.
