Including him, five teenagers were arrested Yusef Salaam, Kevin Richardson, Antron McCray, and Korey Wise. They all were aged between 14-16 years of age. On the night of 19Th April 1989, Trisha was found unconscious with her skull fractured, her body temperature at 84 degrees, and 75% of her blood drained from her body. When she recovered she had no memory of the assault.
All the teenagers were convicted in two separate trials of charges stemming from the attacks. Raymond was tried as a juvenile and convicted of rape and assault and was sentenced to five-ten years of jail. Later Matias Reyes confessed that it was his doing. On 19th December 2002, the Manhattan District Attorney said that the convictions of five men were overturned. Raymond spent five years in prison for a crime he did not commit.
